Title: Carb rebuild kit?
Post by: More2LifeThanMPG on November 05, 2011, 08:51:38 AM
I took the carb off my motor and have gone to Autozone, O'reilys, and called Napa. None of them can pull up the kit for it. Where has anyone gotten there's before? (it's a holly 4 barrel) and the numbers on the "motorcraft" tag are D4JL-J-7F8

If it is a Holley, then look on the choke housing for the LIST number

The Holley web site shows the 3-538 kit for carb number 64-7128

I haven't been able to find anything on the Motorcraft number or the 7128 list number specifically.

If you can find someone that has the 3-538 kit in stock, match up as many gaskets as you can before opening the packaging.

pepboy sells the "trick kit" in their "performance section."  thats where i got my stuff from.  they have 2 kits, one is JUST the stuff I needed and the other $40 one had a ton of crap left over.
