I have a covered engine compartment....and a family who may borrow my boat and not do things right. I don't want to lose them or sink my boat over a few $$$.
I've upgraded to a marine starter and alternator (the major source of sparks), I figured I might as well get the marine grade fuel pump (or convert it) so I worry less about the family.
I also plan on running a o ring on the distributor cap, to take care of the last spark potential . The carbs don't have j tubes, but I put a hose tying the two float bowls together with the vent on the bottom to simulate what a j tube does. Other than that, I can't think of what else I need to be safer.
