Hey guys, I helped a friend install a new engine in his boat today and while setting timing it only had 5 degrees of advance. The distributor is an early 90s TBI style without any mechanical advance. Are there different modules to install with different curves or do I set the initial timing at 30 degrees and hope it starts when hot. The new engine is a stock 454 and the old one was a healthy built 396 that ran great with this same distributor but I have no idea what the timing was set at before and neither does he.
