valvetrain question(s)...
« on: June 13, 2011, 09:03:00 PM »
after pulling my valve covers and snapping some pix i noticed that they're painted in sections, red and white.  if they're facing different directions does that mean im getting float and the springs are turning?  or is this normal?  i dont have any noises and it runs great.  just curious if its something i should look into.

is it worthwhile to upgrade the rockers or anything valvetrain wise?  its just a basic 454 setup right now...  ive always done my mustangs with alum heads and 1.6 rockers... im guessing run of the mill bbc's are 1.7's?

Those painted lines are just for identification. And yes, you can never go too far on a BBC as far as valvetrain. The valve springs will rotate, nothing wrong with that at all..
