Title: Converting points

Lot of guys run petronix., with great success.

I prefer a GM HEI in an Olds, BBC or BBF.

and MSD for race stuff.

Post by: Six-Oh-Nine on February 15, 2017, 08:40:34 PM: The petronix is a pretty dang good bang for the buck conversion for stock to very mild builds... the only downside, or rather, the only issue I see with customer's stuff is when guys use them on wore out or just plain jacked off distributors and then you have money into a distributor that may spark better, but doesn't work properly, be it erratic timing or non-functioning mechanical advance. So make sure the distributor is in good shape FIRST... if so... then cool beans and order the conversion.

Post by: crewchief22 on February 16, 2017, 07:41:51 PM: I ran one of the Pertronix conversion kits in a Mallory dual point distributor for many years and I've been running one of their distributors for the last several years with no complaints.

I have no problem recommending their products.
