took the boat out this weekend and for some reason it was spitting oil out of the valve cover breathers and the dip stick tube. what would cause this
also there was kinda of a poping noise while driveing it....and it seems to be running a bit rich
could the jets in the carb be to big??

If it's popping then it's too lean, jet up. your oil issue is called blow by. I had the same problem until I bought a vacuume pump.$$$$$$$$$$. Blow by is normal on a high rpm motor. there are many ways to deal with it. although the vaccume pump is the best route it is the most expensive. 1000-1500$ but you will pick up 10 to 30 hp. Another route is to dump it into your exhaust from your valve covers , more common. basicaly you run 3/4 or 1 inch hoses from your breathers holes to a threaded pipe welded into your exhaust. has to be a y angle or wont work. third you can buy a puke tank, mount it and run a hose from each valve cover to the can with a breather or 2. most common on this forum.

Why would it start putting oil out after 4 or 5 trips. It never starter doing it until the most recent trip???

Time for a compression check IMHO. Could be a broken ring gland or a bent valve/guide problem, I would check it out before more damage is done.... ;)
