Exhaust/ water lines/ valve?
« on: June 29, 2016, 06:29:22 PM »
My uncle just purchase this boat. in the pictures below r the waterlines for the exhuast. The waterlines have a valve on the end (after the inlets) that can be opened or closed. His question to me was "do i run the valves closed when running and or slightly cracked?"

I'm pretty sure you're looking at drains for the jacketed headers.

Mine aren't Lightnings, like I think those are, but I drain at the end of the weekend. I would definitely make sure to drain if they're steel inners and stainless outers.

So he should be running them closed then drain at the end of a trip. Thanks

I'm not sure , but they look like drains for the block and exhaust system. Something similar to these. You would drain those before cold weather freezing temperatures, and as routine maintenance.
