Title: Dry Headers

Has anyone ever heard of running Bassetts dry? I have a set of headers that are in pretty rough shape cosmetically and was thinking of coating them or running header wrap. Just wanted to know if there would be any performance draw back or anything else that would cause a problem.

 All the comp jets run dry headers. the ceramic coating helps them cool off quicker and keeps them  looking nice

i run mine dry and they get hot really hot people in the back seat complain.

its illegal to run them dry technically. people still do it though...it all depends on where you boat and how strict they are about it

I took my wife for a 30 minute ride in my, just purchased, 18' jet with dry headers and when we got back to the ramp, she told me that she would never ride in that boat again. I have to admit, my ears were also ringing pretty bad. I decided it just wasn't worth the excess heat and the noise.

I have ceramic coated now...but before i didnt and i could feel the heat on my back...the ceramic not as much...boat is also 18

Brandon, come on hommie, i am just a phone call away. I run mine dry, no need for header wrap, you can just get them ceramic coated. I'll email you.
