Title: Dual tunnel ram carb running tips
Post by: 69kona on October 21, 2015, 11:10:27 PM: Looking to pick some of your guys Brain s . Want to dial in my dual tunnel ram with 600 Holley vac secondary's . I know they aren't the best choice but that's what I have right now... Every input would help . I have dialed in single s so I'm not to green behind the ears lol

I'd say start with the lightest (yellow) secondary springs and a 4.5 power valve. If you don't know where to start with jetting, I always recommend starting with the original jets and adjust from there as needed.

Ok cool so both will open the same time
And when I rebuilt the carbs I put 6.5 PV gonna work??
Idle circuit tunning ?

Post by: crewchief22 on October 22, 2015, 06:49:03 PM: You'll find that the 6.5 PV will cause it to be a little rich. The 4.5 will delay the enrichment a little and help keep it from dribbling at idle due to a large cam.

Post by: 78hallett on October 23, 2015, 07:29:53 AM: I run the same set of carbs on my 460. Make sure you get your idle mixture screws set correctly before any other tuning, it will make things a lot easier. definitely recommend using a vacuum gauge also for best results.

I'm getting response out of air screws

Post by: aquaholic72 on October 23, 2015, 02:32:44 PM: How far are you trying to turn the idle down? My bbc with a tunnel ram and 2 600's will not idle below 1200 rpm unless its under a load. any lower it dies..

Post by: SSpeeDEMONSS on October 23, 2015, 09:19:11 PM: My 461 olds with a tunnel and 2 600s idles around 800 or so. Cam is far from stock too. Stock holley 4160s, we just adjusted the idle air screws.
