Title: Eagle cranks , ok to run right out the box or no ?

so after tearing my olds 455 apart im pretty sure the crank needs replaced ,. i know that Eagle seems to make a good crank but ive read alot of different opinions and would like a few current ones lol ,

some people say that the Eagle crank will still need to be machined down a bit to be perfect ,. then other people say they have had good luck with running them right out of the box ,.what do you guys think about them ?



sorry for all the question on here lately , this boat has tweaked my mind a bit i think  :screwy:,.. after it blew up i wanted to sell it ,. 54 hrs later i have the entire motor apart and even washed the hull after that , WTF  :banghead: LOL

no, you will need to measure every thing in a new build

i only have experience with scat and they are a nice product as well.. still needed machining rite out of the box

Ralph speaks the truth.  Trust nothing.  Measure everything yourself.  Don't trust a machine shop to check anything out either.  I've got tools for loan should you need them.  Like the saying goes....if you want it right, do it yourself.

hey that would be awesome man thanks !!! ..only problem is i live in Austin TX ...ill cover all fee's + some for your time if your willing to ship it to me ,.. if i break it or if it gets damaged in shipping ill buy you a new tool ,.. what kind of tool are we speaking about btw ? lol  :D

Not an Eagle, but Summit sbc crank mic'd out OK out of the box

It is not wise to assume any mass produced part is ready to go as packaged.  Might be the case sometimes, but never assume so and plan with the intention of reworking parts for your specific engine combo and application.

If the choice were mine, I'd go with a Scat crankshaft over the Eagle.
