Good Looking windsor! is that a Standard 302 tunnel ram or a boss?
My dad did a pretty good job covering the majority of the build. This was the first time this engine was lit up with the crank trigger installed and that much initial timing (total locked out). Now as I suspected, I got to go back and re set the carb, and change the throttle plates. The carb came factory with .125" holes in each butterfly which was perfect berfore, but now with this much timing the plates are practically seated against the throttle body with no transfer slot revealed at idle.

So when's it gonna see Nostalgia Jet? ;D

Standard 302 with Price Motorsport adapter plates. Since it's in a "street rod" and need to be very drivable, possiable prarade's and other lot's on slow pock driving I decided to play it safe. Not looking for max power good drivability and lots of trq. Somewhere North of 520 hp and North of 525 lbs ft.
I'll give you the #'s later but my 660 hp 409" Widsor made a good deal more power with a Victor Jr over the RPM Air Gap past 5,400 rpms. I'll get you the number a bit later.

This is going in a '35 Street Rod, but it could be a pretty nice boat engine. It came off the dyno on tuesday:

With dyno headers:

With Tri Y's:

We had a few issues with the T/R so we lost to much time to do a manifold swap. I wanted to run the RPM Air Gap as a compairison to see if the T/R is worth anything at these rpm's.
It has a somewhat mild hydrl. roller cam: .552 lift dur 224/232 @ .050 (283/290 adv) 114* lobe sep.

Very cool ;D
I was suprised to see the HP increase & torque decrease with the Tri Y's.
I used to work of Thorleys largest WD, and we were always told that the tri Y type headers were "better" for low end torque and that if you wanted better performance in the mid to upper rpm range go to a 4 into 1.
Was anything else changed besides the headers between runs?

Here's my 528 - temped to throw that in the boat

Nothing else changed. We were a bit surprised also. These Tri Y's are 1 3/4" and the dyno headers were 1 3/4" also. We are not sure what the deal is. The dyno owner has a 421 " sm/blk Chevy that he put a set of Tri Y's on after he ran the dyno headers when it was on the dyno. His were 1 5/8" and they did as you would guess they would.

422" Small Block Dodge.
Eldebrock heads, dual plane intake, Roller cam, 850 carb.
Made 560hp@5900 rpm.... and 580lbs @ 4400 rpm..... all on pump gas too

Here's my "small block" (3.4 L) . It makes 300hp at 5300rpm, has 6 carbs, keeps the skeeters out of my yard, and sounds like a pack of sick dirt bikes ::) . Maybe it would run better with some zoomies and a big fiberglass scoop. >:D

Not if you have 12 hrs and a video camera to re-live it. I'd take the twins. ;D :o

I would still have to se them first! The guy picking them out might have really bad taste in women!
-
Can't believe you guys are saying a small block jet is more fun than a pair of 110 lb twin poon tang. Can we move this discussion over to www.socaltrailriders.org where they like hanging with other guys, watching other guys asses for miles, and have other issues with female sluts?
I *know* I can have more fun with the twins - maybe I just have more practice or somethin'.... :-)
-
OK OK, maybe overstated that one just a bit, went with a twin for a while, I think they shared a brain :-\ ;D
