Title: Edelbrock Marine Heads

Has anyone ever bought a pair of these.  i was thinking about getting them for the rogers.  or any other suggestions on heads would be appreciated...

I've read pretty good things about them.
Pretty good bang for the buck.
If you buy them, make sure you have the valves checked.
Some folks seem to be getting them a little on the tight side.
Getting them checked goes without saying though.

I'm using these in the 460 version.  They are an excellent quality head.

thanks guys!!  we want to run pump gas and we want to rebuild it close to stock.  so if anyone knows of what cam was originally in a 1970 454 BBC that would be appreciated as well.  it looks like when aeromarine got ahold of it they detuned it.  and the cam didnr have any numbers on it anywhere

I wouldn't look for a cam with 40 year old grind technology.  :screwy:

You need to find a cam from a reputable company that is designed for what you want to do with the boat.  Just because you want to go with a stock configuration doesn't mean you can't have a newer grind design and upgraded performance.

Call Clay Smith Cams and speak to George Stregal, he'll set you right on the camshaft/lifters/rockers you need for your application.  There really isn't a one size fits all cam.

If your gonna run aftermarket heads, pump that mill up as much as possible.
Those heads will out flow ANY GM iron head so take advantage of that.
Take Skips advise or Dave www.AandDengines.com .
Stick with your engine builders advise ALL THE WAY THROUGH !
Stock GM parts can take you to 500+ hp range easy sipping on pump gas all day.
TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF THOSE HEADS !
