So being the genius that I am , I took a huge flat blade screw driver to the starter at the solenoid and the motor would jump over so I figured there was at least power to there so I turned to key off and then turned it back on and it fire back up... "

The first thing I would check would be the ground wire. That screwdriver trick is more likely to force the ground to work rather than a key switch or stereo or... If you have a meter check the battery voltage at the battery and then check the voltage at the ground wires and the voltage at the starter. Wiggle the ground wires around to see if it changes anything. Is there a battery isolator/switcher? If so that's where I'd go after checking the ground wires. You'll be looking for any drop in voltage. After the battery isloator/switcher check I'd go to the key switch itself. You'll be comparing the key switches input voltage to the key switches output voltages. My friend's Eliminator did the exact same thing that your boat is doing and it was a bad ignition switch. If you don't have a volt meter go to radio shack and spend $5 to get one. It doen't matter if it's very accurate because you'll be looking for a difference in voltage - not a correct amount of voltage (i.e.: 12.3 volts). Rod.
