in your guys opnions.....who makes a good bearing for crank/rods/cams?
also who makes good piston rings

Michigan brand is a good quality bearing.
Sealed Power is good for rings.

I've been using Clevite recently...stay away from ACL...they've recently changed ownership and are outsourcing much of their product line with shitty QC.
King bearings seems to be OK as well. Their "alecular" bearings are supposedly more forgiving than the Clevites but I'm not sure if that's good or bad.
Rings....most are made by Hastings anyway, regardless of the brand. They all have the same piece of paper in them explaining how to install them.
What kind of motor are you putting together?

Gotta disagree.. Ever check ring gaps on Hastings...IMHO, WAY off !! :thumbup:
Bearings IMO I prefer Clevite or Fed Mogul...just my opinion ;D
Rings I prefer Speedpro :thumbup:

Nope, I always get file to fit and never really check 'em before hitting the 'em with the filer.

Whether or not they are file to fit rings or std fit...It needs to be checked /set.
cam bearings I love DURABOND :thumbup:....By the way, I'm not lazy, std fit/ or file to fit must be checked .

Total Seal rings for marine deal and marathon motors..A pull truck builder turned me on to them, they're in Phoenix AZ I think..
Otherwise Speed Pro from FM. To be honest, never spent a lot of time checking end gaps on those, I just push a ring from each piston in it's cylinder and look for daylight, I'm lazy that way.. :screwy: ;D
Always used Michigan/Clevite bearings and never really had any issues.
Anything over 5,500 RPM and I use "P" series bearings and under I have stuck with the standby "H" series.
I was taught by a circle track engine builder, so that is where that comes from....Use what works for you.

What do you recomend?
Doing bearings (all bearings) and possible rings, Dont know yet pullin them tom, for my 800 hp bbc puls a 300 shot of n2o it is efi and all top quality parts. I want stuff that takes a lickin and keeps on tickin. lol had clevit sp and I think total seal rings but unsure, probe pistons.
