So i read somewhere that the engine code is on the front of the engine right above the timing chain cover. This is what i found: T03237XK. Does anybody know what it means? So far the "T" means it was produced in Tonawanda, New York. 03 Is March. 23 is the 23rd. But i havent found anything on what the 7XK means, can anyone shed some light on this? From what ive found the last digits are supposed to specify which package the engine is and vehicle the engine belonged in. :screwy:

Thanks! Im betting it is actually the 1977 454 w/ 250hp. The boat is a 77 and the motor is original.
Do you, or anybody, know whatthe comment "LF-8" means?

Does anybody have an idea of which vehicle this motor shoul dhave originally belonged to? I dont want to be wastng my time going back and for to and from the parts store to try and figure out which machine i am needing to look for.
T03237XK is the engine code i have from above the timing cover.

In '77, 454's came in....pick-ups, motorhomes, jet boats, and uh, pick-ups. Oh and v-drives
Try '77 c/30 pick-up.
Also depends what ya need for it, and how its built/modified
