about to do an oil change for the first time in the boat, what grade oil does every one run in there boat? i got a 1976 spectra with a 460

I use lucas 40wt with zinc I have flat tappet cam if you have a roller cam you dont need the zinc

I run valvoline vr1 20/50 in my 454 BBC. You can find it at your local auto zone. It has the zddp (zinc) in it. But as far as which weight you should run depends on your clearances in your motor.

VR1 20/50 racing(9qts) in my 460 with 1 qt of lucas oil stabilizer(10qt pan).

A Ford need any high quality 40W or 20w50 oil with ZINK, VR-1 valvoline and Kendal GT-1 are both good.
Take a look men think the Delo 400 is now ZINK free.
