What would you guys suggest for a good engine paint (rattle can)
All I can seem to find is Dupli color. Is that good stuff, or does it change colors??
Thanks- Cole

Duplicolor is good.
Just make sure you buy enough cans to lay it down thick.
Primer with the Duplicolor high heat, and make sure everywhere is covering.
Don't sand the primer, just spray the base coat. It usually takes about 3 or 4 coats to lay it down so it all looks even. The first coat you should just haze the paint on, so you don't get runs. While that first coat is taked up you can usually lay a pretty heavy second coat.
And then after the base Duplicolor engine clear realy helps it shine.

Clean the block really good and then clean it again and again if you don't want it peel.

Oh yea that part too lol. Soap and water is good enough if you dry it fast enough so it doesn't rust. Or if you have some Alcohol you can scrup it down with a rag

Acetone!!!
Protect your lungs from Acetone!

Acetone!!!
Sometimes it leaves a slight film believe it or not. But if you got it, it usually turns out good anywho

Thanks,
I use Acetone on a lot of stuff and it is some nasty sh*t to breath! I thought that the Duplicolor was some good stuff, I just wanted a second or third opinion. The motor will have no paint on it as it is being built, but I will still clean it real gooood!

I don't know if it's true or not but I was told that whatever amount of Acetone that breathe stays in your lungs forever.

Sh*t I should be drownd in it by now, I use it all the time and have for years. I'd put three cans on a motor if your gonna rattle can it. You think you have enough then when it dries it really shrinks up. I uaually try to paint the motor the car, or boat, color with the same paint out of the gun.

Acetone is fingernail polish remover. As they seem to have gotten rid of every other chemical that works becuase .00001% cought some condition that killed them, I'm sure they would have outlawed it if it was truely nasty. Just my warped logic.

i use "oneshot" paint its a pinstripe paint and holds up really well. i use a small detail jamb gun and thin it out a little....sticks good!!!! and easy to clean
