Not a clue...
Back to basics time.
Spark, spin and stink....
(ignition, compression and fuel for those who don't speak grandpa)

Does it turn over???
Yes.... Check for spark
No... Disconnect the battery trying turning it over by using a socket on the harmonic balancer bolt
If it does not turn after trying to turn the engine over disconnect the pump from the engine and try again one of the 2 may be seized
did you do anything to the engine after you shut it down off after running?????
Check to see if you have spark first.
Yes..... Check carb to make sure it pumping gas
No.... Recheck all your wiring for your distributor and coil....and if you have a ballast resistor is it good... check your points also make sure you're coil is good if running electronic ignition are you using correct ohm coil
Engine gots spark move on recheck your firing order make sure all the wires are where they are supposed to be set it at Tdc to number 1
Got gas... Make sure you dont have fuel pouring out to much coming out will flood you out and the engine will not start ... Take off the air cleaner or scoop do not start your engine yet look down the carb while some one presses the gas peddle you should see fuel spraying out if
not there's a carb problem or obstruction in your fuel supply check fuel water separator and fuel filter
If you have spark, gas and timing is correct check your valves make sure if you set them correctly if you're running a hydraulic flat tappet cam be careful of how much lift you're running and you're spring pressure the cam will go flat quick but good luck

Wow great reply. Do this.

So I think it's the distributor! The mechanical advance keeps getting stuck.

While I agree that this needs to be addressed, I have a hard time with it causing a no start...
I could be wrong.

Well I pulled the distributor out today and played with it and when I put it back in it was firing but wouldn't run. That's more then what I got out of it before. I ordered a new distributor today so I guess we will see if that was the problem. Thanks for your help and input.

So before the engine was firing you had no spark......?????? Or Did you have spark. Before??????? And are you running a points type distributor or electric type....because you want make sure to check your points for pitting and ensure the gap is set correctly for your engine....

So I was right about the distributor. Dropped the new one in and she fired right up!!! Thanks for everyone's input!!!
