Is this normal? I even get it when idling or at speed on the water. I dont remember this boat doin it this much before, even on the trailer.

does it go away when you turn the water pressure up?

Nope....starts way before the engine warms up too. Did it alot in parker and the engine never broke 120

only thing i can think of is the log isnt filling fully with water and so theres burning hot spots near the ports that just instantly turn anything to steam... do you have a block or kink in one of your hoses? also hows the exit hole from the log/snail to the exhaust? if its too big or corroded it wont hold the water back into the log.

What was the temperature outside? Was is humid?
Does the water go to the logs then the block then the risers?
IDK, it don't seem odd to me, but then again, maybe..

I thought my Southwind steamed a lot too. But talked to a shop about it and they said "it's a pretty normal amount for the set up and age". Whatever that means, but yeah.

Sounds like water in the manifold if these are water manifolds doesn't take much to steam.

Now Brads got me worried about mine - steam dissapates a little further than the end of the pump, 4' behind transom? Never noticed this before yesterday. Water temp 135*-145*. I wonder if a pressure check would show a head gasket/cracked head/exhaust to log leak?

Ehhh, mine will leave a little steam cloud if I run it hard, come to a stop, then mash on it but it doesn't keep steaming.

after talking with some folks, i am not concerned.....i wouldnt get too worried either 'mash on it'.
