WTB Olds torker
« on: August 07, 2014, 01:15:15 PM »
The boat that I'm buying has a mild+ Olds 462 with a tunnel ram and 2 660 center squirters.  I'm just looking to run a single 850-1000 cfm 4150

Well if its sucking down 1320 cfm now who knows what it will want.  I had a stock 455 in my 442 that would suck down a 800 double pumper and this one is supposed to be about 500 HP

It's not.... 500 HP works out to just about 780 CFM. You have to understand that the velocities in a jet boat engine carburetor, especially with a tunnel ram, are extremely low. Which is why you always see carburetors that are technically too large for the application.

I would grab a mechanical secondary 850 and see what you got.

JMHO...

I have a 830 dp with annular boosters that Joe Mondelo built me back in 01 that sat on top of a 10.5:1 468   that he spec'd out.   I like the new RPM air gap but its a bit spendy

I've got an Edelbrock Torker and a Holley marine 850 spread bore double pumper w/ manual choke I'm looking to unload. The carb will need to be rebuilt but a kit and 6 pack are cheap. Let me know. I switched to a Victor & marine dominator w/ a little giggle juice.
