Title: EXHAUST QUESTION
Post by: mpj1617 on October 06, 2010, 11:02:14 AM
I have a 460 BBF in my Jet.  I was wondering if I have to stay with risers on my Hardin logs our can I just go to elbows. What are the pros and cons to this if it is even possible.  Thanks.

If it is a jet, it would be rare that the engine is high enough to run without risers.....The outlet of the exhaust manifold has to be at least three inches above the waterline....The elbows were designed for inboards and some vee drives... ;)

Thats what I was wondering.. Thank you very much!!  You got any pump advise??  I am pulling the motor this winter and I am gonna bump the compression up, cam, have some port work done, change ignition system.  I already bought a Holley HP850.  Thanks for your time.
