Well it only took me almost 3 months but I managed to get the motor out and tore down.
How often does the small end of a rod let go? But that's what happened. Also I think the timing chain let go haven't got the front tore down yet. When I turn the crank the cam doesn't move.
Damage list-
3 exhaust valves bent
4 roller lifters broke
1 rod let go (the small end) big end looks good no spun bearings
Cams damaged and I think the timing chain let go
Oil pick up was just dangling (the screen)
Blocks bad cracked cylinder wall
1piston
I think the crank is good just need to have it check out for straightness.
Needs-
4bolt mkIV block
1 rod
Set of pistons and rings
Bearings and new rod bolts
3 new exhaust valves
Timing chain and gears
Roller cam
4 roller lifters
Rod and main bearings
Machine work and balancing check the crank
Now oil pick up
So all in all I'm feeling pretty good about it. I thought it was going to be a lot worse.
Oh yeah gotta weld up my windows in my pan.
Photos to come soon

Sounds like the mechanical equivalent of my 1st marriage. Keep your chin up brother. You'll be mashin' the go pedal in no time.

stuff spins around at thousands of rpms all within tolerances of a thousandths of an inch. im surprised motors dont explode more often. engineering marvels...

You'd have to do a little driving to No Cal, but this may be what you're looking for

Does anybody have an idea how much I'm looking at to repair this thing?

Well....
You do not need a four bolt block... That will save you several hundy
I think you broke enough stuff to buy another completer motor and start over.
Let me if my machinist has what you need and I will get back to you. Having dinner with him tomorrow night... I will catch him after a couple of "after dinner cocktails"...LOL
I am thinking you will be in this thing every cent of $3,500-$4,000.

Did you catch the link I posted? I think a complete 4 bolt for 800.00 is a good start to a new beginning. Between the 2 motors you may have all you need but machine work and gaskets. Probably need a cam, but it would be a nice start,
