I think the kickouts like pictured below are better than the inverted T style.

I can't find it now, but David Reher discussed moving the oil sump far away from the crankshaft.
I have looked at many hulls, rail kits, and oil pans. I have concerns regarding the volume of oil in the pan. It is very easy to fill the pan so that the oil level is above the windage tray. If you can run the bigger pan with less oil, it's beneficial to windage.
While I was at B1 Racing, we received many engines, right off the dyno. The engine builder told us that, "the amount of oil in it now made the most power." I strongly believe that the angle the engine is at in a boat will have a totally different dynamic effect compared to an engine dyno that is mounted level. Again, I feel reducing the amount of oil is necessary.
I would definitely check the fitment of the pan in the hull before installing it. A tunnel boat doesn't tolerate wide kickouts.
