I am currently running HEI distributor you can purchase off eBay for a bbf. I have a accel dual point distributor that I am thinking about putting pertronix in and running. Has anyone used pertronixs? Or what would you suggest I want to get better performance.

What is wrong with the HEI? I'm running one with the coil on the distributor. Works great compared to the points.

If you want performance I would switch to an MSD distributor and ignition

I have used the Pertronix kits with great success, they work great. It really depends on what you're looking for as far as performance. I agree that MSD works really well. That being said, I doubt seriously you would be able to calculate the difference in performance
between the two.

Been running the same Mallory Unilite for years... I just change the cap every few years just because. The marine blue cap works on it.

The main problem with what I have now is the way it fits in the block. The distributor doesn't fit real well and will leak a little oil around the o ring. Also it is not a tight fit. Also would like a little more performance

Which MSD setup do you recommend on a BBF?

I use the MSD Pro Billett Ready to Run with a Blaster Coil. Runs great and i don’t have the issues i had with the old Mallory.
