Planning winter project, and wanted to get some of your guys opinions. "In your opinion, what's the best power setup for a Ford 450 in a 21ft Tahiti?" I know power options always depend on the amount of loot you put out, but I wanted to get some ideas and make the financial decisions later. Don't currently have a budget, but I have wiggle for a good setup. Thanks for you comments!

I had porting done to my D3's (welded up emission hole) with SS valves an non adjustable scorpion rollers... 30 over in block with forged pistons (I have the football factory bolts). Cam choice was based on thru bolt style log exhaust. Its about 9.5-1 with about 450hp... - a few with exhaust. Able to hit 70 in my heavy 18.

Paul (LakesOnly) is a great source of information and parts for the 429/460 engine and should be a mandatory call before starting a fresh build.

Thanks, I'll give Paul a call. Didn't want to go into a fresh build not know what to expect as far as outcome, I've seen tons of money spent for minimal gains. Also while motor was building worked on, wanted to do some trailer upgrades. Any idea about places float can stay while off trailer?

Definately give Paul a call he built my 460. Mild build, ported stock D3 heads his stage 1 oil mods flat top pistons about 9.5:1 comp 450 horse, runs great and pushes my hallett to a solid 75mph. He is extremely knowledgable and well known in the 460 engine world.
