I've got a new Marine Holley Fuel pump and as soon as someone can tell me where one connection is suppose to go this thread can be deleted.

That's your fuel/fume vent tube. Most people just run it back to the inlet line by placing a "T" in the inlet line and connecting it to the T.

Thanks for the answer. Now I've got another line to plumb in. :-\ I think I can be a certified plumber when I get done here. :D

Doesn't that fuel vent tube run into a flame Arrestor type air filter on marine applications?
Should be something on the net about it...

Rebel, I've been looking. Emailed Holley and never get a reply. My arrestor doesn't have any place to connect a tube to it.

Thanks Reb. I've got the 8" x 3" arrestor so I'll just add the tube.

I just hadn't ever thought about a fume return. :D :D :D CP's been pretty good about helping me out when I need it. Very fast shipping too. Thanks again Rob! Greg

Can someone please explain what running the fuel/fume vent tube into a flame arrestor does exactly?

if the diaphram in the pump goes bad, the fumes/gas will be put into the engine due to vacuum via the tube.

That makes sense...however re-routing it to the inlet would also work. The point is to not allow the fuel/fumes to be released to the outside and keep them contained within the motor/fuel pump correct?

All the "marine" parts were designed for closed engine compartments right .

you are correct in that's the point of it but that's not how's the regs are written. You could still be written up because of the ignorance of a Sheriff.
