Title: fuel pump ???

shouldn't I be able to connect the hot n ground wire from the fuel pump, Holly Black fuel pump to my battery to see if it works. I tried that and it doesn't do any just got the pump a little bit warmbut did not run

Should be able to hear it humming or buzzing away.

I got a couple of dudds before. Just because it's new don't mean it's good.

A Holley Black will do more than hum, it should pretty much jump out of your hand with the torque.

Take the cover off the bottom and check for debris, spray a little penetrating oil in it.

Yep my thought exactly...those things are super load from what I remember. Almost sounds like a compressor on a air ride system hehe. If you bought it new return it if you bought it used tough luck bud. Clean and check wires. Good luck.
