I'm leaving in about 30 min to the river an my fuel pumps dead can I just run a cheep automotive replacement or do I have run some thing that's a higher output

Stock motor at least 4-5psi and 35-40gph.

It's got a mild cam in it also

I have a carter mech thats 5-6 1/2psi and 42gph on my new 466 with mild cam/850 holley dp and its running fine.

Pep boys in long beach sells holley and carter pumps. Check around...

My cheap ass Mr Gasket pump lasted longer than my brand new Holley blue pump. Use a relay and prefilter it. I am getting about 6-7 psi. Stock 454 with intake upgrade. Boat didn't notice the difference. 58 mph.
