What pump did you get?
A bypass regulator will help prevent pressure creep. If you don't have way too much pump, a standard regulator will probably be fine.
You can make your own bypass by adding a -3 fitting, with a nitrous jet installed, off of the low pressure side between the regulator and carb. Return back to the tank and not to the suction side of the pump.
It is best to have a pump that puts out around 25PSI and regulate down at the carb/s. This is so the pump can overcome the G-forces of acceleration working against the inertial forces of the liquid fuel trying to remain at rest. Theoretically, if the pump is regulated to 9PSI, you will see flooding at idle and a pressure drop under acceleration.
Good luck,
