Im getting ready to yank out the engine again and was wondering, I have both tanks plumbed to a "T" and no valve just a straight flow to the fuel pump off both tanks....
What im wondering is should i put in a valve so i can run one tank at a time or just leave it alone. I figure "geusstimate" my tanks to be 11 gallons each , so it would be like running one 22 gallon tank.
Any input is good input, let me know what you guys think, cause now is the time ;)

The main problem with running them without a valve is that if one tank drains a little faster than the other you will stop pulling fuel when the first goes dry. If you make sure that the hose from each tank to the tee is exactly the same length you should limit the problem.

i asked the same question and was told to just run it without the valve....which i did and i have no issues....ran it down to about 1/8th of a tank and they were both pretty even.

Also, if you don't go the valve route, they make "Y" fittings that help alot with one side of the tank sloshing into the other. I run an eletric fuel pump, and also a fuel tank selector..... so when one tank goes dry, or is close to dry, I switch to the other tank without leaving my seat

When i was at Jegs earlier today, i was looking at the "Y" block for my fuel and that is what meade me ask if i should go to a valve.
When i plumbed my tanks , i cut both sides the same length right off the roll.
I will finish my order and get the "Y" block for the fuel....

What I did and does work great I made 2 lines the same lenght from the tanks to a y valve mounted at the center of the back of the hull. summit y, from the y, one line to a water fuel seperater then a safety shut off valve then the fuel pump, then a 10 micron filter the the fuel rails-carb. they drain even.

After the second time I ran out of gas 15 miles from home base I chose to add a switching valve. My thoughts were when one tank runs out, its time to turn around. Of course that only works when you're up river.
