'76 Eliminator "19' Bubbledeck" bad gasoline smell seems to be coming from gasoline very slowly permeating through the original metal right fuel tank (which appears coroded). Potentially dangerous situation as the boat is stored in my attached garage! I'm siphoning both right and left tanks dry now. But not sure what to do next. The guy at Napa told me about a product called Pour 15 (sp?) which apparently coats the inside of a leaking tank. But I would need to remove both tanks in order to "roll" the product inside the dry empty tanks. I think they are 11 gallon tanks aluminum (?). Wondering about any advice anyone with experience with this sort of thing. Should I do this or is it better to simply replace the tanks with metal or poly ones? I don't want to dick around with leaking gasoline problems. Thank you!

I have heard of good success on aluminum tanks with POR15 (https://www.por15.com/POR-15-Fuel-Tank-Sealer).....but if you want all your worries to go away, have another set of tanks made. IMCO can make you new tanks. I had a set made about 10 years ago and it was in the $800 range.

Wow. Thank you! Your quick advice saved me hours of searching for a place to get work done. Only question left: should I stay away from poly tanks?

Yes, get aluminum. I don't ever see poly tanks in any of these boats.... probably a reason why everyone runs aluminum
