Fuel Preesure while under load
« on: April 24, 2011, 01:24:17 PM »
Have a BBF  with Holley 750 street avenger with vacuum secondaries , Holley red fuel pump , and a electric "helper pump" . have 6-8 psi at idle , drops to zero at full throttle 4200 rpm and the rpms bounce up and down from 3900 to 4200 like it is not getting enough fuel to maintain ...... BTW all new parts . Thanks guys

3/8 Fuel Line , I never run the helper pump except to prime the motor after it sitting . Could the electric fuel pump be bad or slowing down the fuel flow from the mechanical one ???

the mechanical pump is probably struggling to suck the fuel thru the impeller of the electric one when its not on.

Ok I will remove the electric pump then ..... Should the pressure stay 6-7 while a load is on the motor?
