Title: Head bolts
Post by: dat1dsm on June 26, 2014, 11:41:33 AM: Can I buy bolts from a hardware store and use them for my head bolts? As long as they are same size, thread, n pitch? And grade 8? Or do they have to be actual "head bolts"

Use GM/Ford (OEM) or ARP's...cheap Insurance

Need a set or just 1 or 2? What Motor?

The bolts that go into water jackets need to be sealed. My favorite is Toyota black FIPG (dealer only)..or permatex ultra black (secondary choice). Do not use use "thread sealer"...it's for tapered pipe threads.

Damn, wish I would've known this b4 I bought new ones :/
