Title: Header baffles help

Hey guys. I need some help. Ive got a set of basset headers on my boat and want to pull baffles out. Pulled driver side out no questions asked easy as unbolting and sliding out. Now passenger side is a different story. Yanked on it. Beat it. Bent it. Pb blasted it. Even ran it unbolted so hopefully it would push its way out from vibration. Nothing. Any ideas?!!! It's rusted in but want it out!

This has to be the best method I've ever heard  :thumbup: :thumbup:

Diesel fuel mixed with ATF helps loosen rust.

Fab up some sort of puller?

and try some heat maybe?

Thanks for the mix! I'll try that. I've tried to use a puller but it just wouldn't grab the back side. They have no ledge on the back side of the baffle. And I'm not sure what baffles they are.

The only way I have been able to remove stuck mufflers is to remove the header and thump them vertically on a block of wood.

Be sure to hit them perfectly straight.

Normally about five good hits and they come out.

Honestly didn't even think of that! I think I'll be taking both ideas and hopefully making something happen. A little bit of rust removing solution and some wood smacking. 😎👍 thanks for the ideas!

I had the same problem l sprayed wd40 in it and stuffed a rag behind it for a day and it came right out

Stuffed a rag behind it?... So the wd40 wouldn't go down the header or a specific reason?
