Should be ok.  I have the stock mechanical fuel pump on my BBF with the same carb you have and have never had a starvation problem.

I have a similar set up and here is what I know. I have an 800 dbbl pump mechanical secondaries that was just build by C&J engeering. They told me that carb needs a minimum of 6 lbs of fuel pressure. So I put a gauge on and found out that my old pump is not cabable of making anymore than 2 lbs......

Needless to say, I've ordered a new Holley pump, I guess my 32 year old pump has gone bad.....

I had the same problem. I put a 850dp on my 460 and could only get 3psi out of the stock pump. I upgraded to a clay smith mechanical.

I would say put your carb on and get a regulator and gauge setup so you can see what it's doing.

Holleys like 6 to 7+ psi and plenty of volume , not saying it wont run that way , but you are likley leaving some performance behind Tom

So what do you think? Holley Red which is pre-set to 7psi, or Blue w/ a regulator set to 7psi to ensure it has enough volume?
