I have 1 small hole in one of my header gaskets.....if I run it this weekend for a few hours before replaing it, is that horrible?

Mine leaked everytime when I used logs. Might make a bit more noise and put a little black soot around the leak but a small leak is nothing to worry about.

Ya know, if the manifolds are in good shape I'd try runnin 'em without gaskets. I dont use 'em on cars with manifolds and neither does chevrolet.

Try using a gasket sealer. Eventually, as everything. it will ruin over time. ;D

I use copper gaskets with copper RTV. Reusable, and if it starts leaking, tighten the bolts a little more. Can't blow out...

hi temp silicone is all you need,, no gaskets ;D

If they KEEP blowing out , check to make sure the logs are'nt warped!! Use a straight edge or something of that matter. If they are warped it is a pretty easy fix , nothing a little grinding action won't take care of.

Find a machine shop that has one of the old bench/belt sanders, they can sand them flat in about 10 min. should charge about $25 a manifold, sometimes they get wierd about the aluminum, we had a belt for doing aluminum...A cylinder head broach cutter will do an awsome job too, but expect to pay about $75 a manifold, (set-up is a bitch), then don't use gaskets, use something like Ultra copper from Permatex, works real good...
