Alternator /bracket/ pulley

As I'm working through my build I'm sure you guys know how it goes 2 steps back 1 forward. The alternator bracket that I was Givin, mounts in the same holes my rail mounts bolt too. Questions I have is. Am I better off getting a bracket that mounts off the heads or can I get longer bolts and mounts the bracket on top of the rail mount. And what pulley should I run looking to buy one in the next couple days.

If you use the same bolt holes as the engine plate, will the alternator clear the plate as it swings through its arch of adjustment?

If it is possible to mount the alternator in that location and have sufficient adjustability, are you able to shorten spacer between the block and the alternator the amount of the thickness of the engine plate? If not, make a spacer to space the pulley away from the damper.

I had "fun" with this too when I did my blown EFI Nordic. Try a blower and crank trigger. I had to make another bracket the bolted through the stringer for more stability otherwise the alternator would wobble and want to toss a belt.
