Title: Headers under a sundeck
Post by: electrowoman on January 23, 2011, 09:08:28 AM: Is anyone running headers under a sundeck? Are there any reasonably priced water cooled headers
on the market? I'm running long bolt logs right now. It did have stock center riser manifolds but I had to change them out because they hit the tall valve covers.
What are you running?

Post by: Your Mom on January 23, 2011, 09:21:58 AM: I personally wouldnt run anything other than through bolts on what you have. They are the best log style for ford. If your snail has the step down...you can cut that part off to get 3 1/2 insted of the 3. You can also run a ss tip. This should free up some flow. The holley/mt valve covers have an angle for what you had....

flowing than the long bolts. I wanted the girdle for extra security, no way they come loose with
that on there.

Thank you guys for your input. I'll cut the ends for now. I just may take the pony ride to lightning.
We'll have to do more measuring after it warms up a bit. It's 2 degrees outside right now...

Worked on the house with all the windows and doors open in a tee shirt all day.....I think we were in the high seventies... :thumbup: :thumbup:

BTW, FWIW, headers under an engine cover or sundeck are an exercise in ludicrous behavior.....Any and all gains that could be had for performance are all eaten up because of the under deck heat.....

Stick with high performance logs and you should be performance and money ahead.... :sly:
