Title: HEI wiring
Post by: SomeThingWilder on February 12, 2016, 08:35:13 PM
I'm tiring to figure out how to wire this thing up. My wiring diagram shows orange & purple wire goes to "positive terminal on coil" (picture 2) . Do I splice those wires into the red wire coming out of pigtail (picture 1) . Gray wire from my tach says "negative side of coil/point terminal on distributor"  would I splice that gray wire into the "c -" wiring coming out of distributor  (picture 3) . Or if anyone is close to Fullerton and want to show this rookie first hand . I supply lunch and beer!

Red is ignition
Black is ground
Green goes to tach

Orange and purple will go to the red wire from the HEI. Your gray wire will go to the green wire from the HEI. And the black from the HEI will go to a good ground on your engine block.
