Post by: havasudre on January 09, 2007, 05:01:04 PM: OK I JUST FOUND OUT IM MOST LIKELY GOING TO HAVE TO REBULILD MY MOTOR BEFORE THE SEASON
I HAVE A FORD 460 IN MY BOAT RIGHT NOW MY FUNDS ARE KINDA LOW MY FRIEND SUGGESTED GETTING A USED MOTOR FROM THIS GUY HE KNOW WHO RUNS A SHOP HE HAS A MOTOR THAT WAS RE BULIT AND PUT INTO A FOR F250 A FEW YEARS BACK THE PRICE OF THE MOTOR IS 500 WICH IS A STEAL . IM NOT SURE HOW MUCH MY ENGINE WOULD COST TO REBUILD SHOULD I RUBILD MY MOTOR SHOULD I BUY THE USED ON E?
DOES ANY ONE KNOW A GOOD ENGINE REBUILDER I CAN TAKE MY MOTOR TO I HAVE THE ENGINE OUT RIGHT NOW
PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP MY BOAT IS SITTING AT AFRIENDS HOUSE AND I WANT TO PUT THE MOTOR BACK INTO THE BOAT BEFORE I STORE IT SO I CAN HAVE IT READY FOR THE SUMMER

As long as you only want to rebuild all your stock stuff , I should be relativley cheap as long as who ever is doin it realizes that it is goin in a boat and not a car and builds it accordingly . Post by: Taylor SJ on January 12, 2007, 05:56:46 PM: you type worse than i do. had few? don't worry. i condone that. party on. my boat has a 460 ford. shop around for the best price. a simple ring and bearing job could be cheap. just make sure the shop knows it is a marine application. more like like a nascar motor than a drag motot. much more W.O.T than a drag motor.

Dre , I have found that fords are cheap to build . If you can get it looked at to make sure it is good and worth the money and running , it might be worth . I get the feeling that it will only be a band-aid though . For your stock application , it will be cheap to have yours rebuilt and the best part about it is that it will be BRAND NEW !
