Engine to jet alignment..??

Just wondering if there is a write up here on how to properly align a motor to the jetpump. I got my pump back in, and the motor seemed to go in very well. I started the boat up and it was shaking pretty bad. I'm thinking 1 of 2 things here. Old gas and cold motor..?? or the engine somehow went in crooked and is causing the shaking. The boat last ran in Sept 2011, and ran fairly well.. ie no shaking.

I'm draining the fuel, and redoing the lines, they were OLD, but would like to know if there is something more to placing the motor back in the boat besides.. just getting the bolts back in the holes.

Was there anything changed as far as where the motor or pump were mounted? Can you post a couple pics of ur driveline? Do you have 4 bolts on the dirve line that you can disconnect, if so try unbolting the drive line, push the drive line back into the pump so the drive line can spin freely. Try to run the engine with the drive line unbolted and see if it still shakes.. Pictures will get more answers too

Were you in the water or running it on the trailer?

If the intake wasn't removed from the bottom of the boat the jet didn't move and unless there is problems with your stringers or mounts the engine should not have changed enough to cause a problem.

You might have a problem with you drive coupler (loose bolts, tight u-joint).

If you were in the water make sure you don't have something in the jet.
