WTF?

Sounds like a major harmonics issue or major align hone miscalculation...

I have a SCAT crank from a 454 with a 13* twist in it from cylinder 8 to the snout...I thought it was a bad balancer.... :screwy:  This thing twisted hard enough to twist the pump shaft far enough that the splined adapter yoke had to be cut off with grinder... :screwy: :screwy:

By the way, she still ran pretty good, but could not get the tune dialed in for shit......She would pop, spit and fart and shook like a dog crapping razor blades.... :P

There is a chance that these pumps were not designed to go WFO into a sand bar.... ;D

Looks like a lack of oil if I am seeing that photo correctly,, destroyed the main bearings?  Block looks to be badly discolored from heat?

I had a Merlin block repaired once that had 3 burned main saddles,, cost nearly as much as the block.

This was a fresh build(NOT by me)  ... Customer only raced it once, one trip!  He said o/p was goin down. Problem here was found after my teardown. The mains housing was resized, but the caps walked back/forth & side to side in the block registers,  felt bad for the guy... Dimensionally too fk'ed up to measure anything... It's toast
