So I'm at the last stages of stabbing the motor in for the last time and realized my "solution" for my alternator mount isn't going to work.   

I bought a high mount alternator mount from billet specialties but it's for a short water pump pulley, meaning the alternator sits too far back and hit's my risers. All the long water pump mounts look like they mount off the front of the water pump, which obviously won't work as I've got AN lines going directly into those ports.  So what are you guys doing for mounts with a rail kit? The only real solution I can think of is to mount the alternator with a small spacer to the rail kit itself, and try to find a turnbuckle or something similar to adjust it? I've got one of Lightning's bare bones rail kits. Thanks for the help ahead of time.

mines mounted on the passenger side rail facing backwards. With a turnbuckle i sourced from mcmastercarr... ill try to see if i have any pictures

I'd like to think that'd work, I'm assuming you just bolted the buttom mount through the motor plate? I was just outside peeking around at it and it looks like I won't have any adjustment whatsoever because of the damn risers, big blocky fuckers.

How far off is the misalignment andnd in which direction?  Most likely you can resolve this with a spacer behind your existing bracket.

This is kind of what I was thinking of doing. Did you just use L-brackets for the bottom mount on the rail? Also, how well does that turnbuckle work to tension the belt with that big of a spacer on it? That was the issue I saw myself running into with that.

Since this picture was taken, i have made a new spacer that is much more solid. It works great now.

I used some pieces of left over angle aluminum from my rail kit. It worked good for me.
