Ok so when I bought my project boat the guy I bought it from threw in a brand new Holley 750 Carb. Will this work on my boat? The engine is a BBF 460 with a mild cam. Here is the link to the carb on the Holley site.

Also whats the difference between a marine carb and a street carb? And do I need to use a marine carb?

The 750 should be fine for a mild 460 in a boat with an open engine area.
The problem is the 3310 is not a marine carb and if you have an enclosed engine compartment you are required to have a marine carb.

i did a little lookin into this not so long ago! one of the diffs is the vent tubes are turned down into the ventures, also there is a bar that stops the float from bouncing or raising the fuel level to high. all whitch you can buy over the counter. ok here the big prob!!!! if someone tell you yah its fine and catch your on fire a god forbid you or someone get hurt it now is a liablity!!!! so No you should have a approved carb do i run one no! its tuff if your catches on fire theres NO WHERE TO GO!!!! so be careful in your choices.

Pretty good info, but the marine versions also have specially machined throttle shafts with seals and probably a couple other features I'm forgetting. There are REASONS for this.........behind every reg on our boats are probably countless dead bodies.
Point being, it's a boat. It's on the water. Open engine, closed engine, personally, I don't even care which, you NEED to run USCG certified equipment whenever and wherever possible on ANY boat. Not to do so, knowingly, is just simply irresponsible. Experience speaking here. Some youngin's (and my brother) coulda easily been killed in my incident...........and many other incidents that I know and have pictures of..........
Race boats, I understand. Pleasure craft? Let's face it, this is a luxury item. To skimp on a safety feature because of the wallet? Just stupid considering the nature and value of the item, go figure the nature and value of the cargo. Just my .02.........
Pretty easy to cut a corner and run right under a truck if you're not paying attention to what you're doing.

Thanks ray for the help again.... Maybe I will just try and sell the 750 that I have and put it towards a marine carb.... Thanks again.
