Title: Holley vs Speed Demon
Post by: Ckaz21 on June 11, 2014, 05:07:40 PM
Hey guys I'm deciding between a holley model 0-4781s 850 double pumper and a Speed Demon 850 double pumper. I like the looks of the demon but if the holley out performs it than I'll go holley. Any thoughts?

Engine:

454 .030, 9.5 compression, comp xm278 cam, 049 heads with 2.19 and 1.88 valves. Edelbrock air-gap intake.

Thanks!

The adjustability in the demon is way more than most will ever need.
I loved mine.
Not a bad choice but they are basically the same.

I have tested and run both on dyno's, the Holley's always seems to produce more HP. We have always had good numbers with the Holley Pro Form's. Funny, even years ago when Barry Grant ran a pro stock car, he was still using Holley Dominators...LOL :P

i have a speed demon, got a great deal on it.  if i were to do it again id get a regular ol 4150 holley.  parts are easier to find, etc.

Damn I love the look of the speed demon but practicality wise it seems like I better go with holley.

X2 my buddy races circle track and he bought a demon after having a willys carb which is the Holly pro form just with different metering blocks but the Holly Pro form he said he noticed a drastic change a loss of horsepower after he went demon verses the high-performance Holly series
