Title: Holly electric choke help
Post by: drogers87 on July 25, 2016, 07:43:07 AM
Guys, I noticed the electrical choke wires on the side of the carb have been disconnected. I'm not familiar with the set up. I don't recall ever seeing wires hooked up to the choke... Only had the boat 2months, trying to clean things up.

How do I properly hook up? (Wiring rookie)

Can I run without?

Any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated! 82 Carrera/BBC/JGA

You don't really need a choke unless you ate going to be boating in extremely cold weather.

If you were,  one terminal goes to ground,  the other to 12v from the ignition.

I personally would safety wire it open or remove the butterfly completely.

Thanks GT. Talking with a friend he thought it sits in a full choke position but I guess I need to pull the filter and physically look myself. Maybe I'll just take it off. I'm on SoCal and it will be at the river most it's life, probably won't see much cold

Thanks for the help
