Title: How to adjust adjustable push rods?
Post by: SSpeeDEMONSS on September 12, 2015, 06:18:05 PM
I had them I'm the same order that I pulled them out but one side got mixed up so they aren't going in how they came out. I'm assuming they get adjusted the same as an adjustable roller rocker but want to make sure I do it right.  Is there a specific way to adjust them?

I have a set in my olds the middle nut there is a jam nut loosen it and u can make your adjustments as needed. I had never used those and I've had the boat out a number of times w no problems although after my third run I pulled my cover s to check on them they were still as tight as I left them hope that helps

So I'm going to loosen them, tighten until the pushrod stops spinning, then tighten another 1/2-3/4 turn. That's how I would do a normal adjustable rocker on a hydraulic flat tappet cam set up.

Loosen the jam nut and extend till it is in the rocker pushrod socket u should have free movement in a rotating fashion with a slight drag no movement at all up and down.

Basically your setting the lash to zero w the pushrod rather than the rocker you don't need to go any extra as the hydraulic lifter takes up the rest. I had to rotate my motor a bunch of times till each one was at zero at all times
