I have a 75 Waikiki day cruiser 19 foot with a 455 olds in it. It runs great but it would definately never win a race LOL. Seems really heavy. Any simple ways to get it faster?
-
What's all done to it now? Post a pic.
-
A NOS kit would do the job!!!
-
I ahve no idea what is done to it now, never thought about it, all i cared about was that i was not on je skiis anymore and that it ran good. Here is a pic
-
How do I post a pic on here?
-
It's kinda hard to explain. Email them to me at Brock410@aol.com and I will post them for you.
Once it's known what you already have it will be easier for people to advise you in the right direction.
And congrats on moving up from the lake lice crowd. ;D

Thanks for taking the time man, I appreciate it. I will email the pics to you.

If yah don't have one, get a diverter. I'd also go with some O.T's but it looks like the bimini would get in the way. Maybe just enjoy it the way it is and save up for the BBC conversion. Unfortunatly when it comes to boats, building speed is a very expensive uphill battle.

Yes a chevy would definatly make it faster since it would hold up better at higher RPM's . I'd rebuild the olds with all the oiling mods and you should be OK. I beilieve Jetaholic has a new one ready to go .In the engine section

To make that jet run harder you will need to check the intake to hull alignment, blend as needed, a super sport loader, place diverter, threw hull headers and a Big Bad Ford.
-
Experience purely from reading...
That jet can only pump the water it can get to and then it needs to get rid of it properly. Hull alignment, loader grates, stuffer's, droop snoots, place diverter's, FT nozzles, ride plates, set back pumps, etc. are each huge in their own right.
The stock marine Olds typicaly have higher HP than the stock BBF's and the stock BBC's. The Olds are notorious for oiling problems, especially in marine applications. The oil doesn't return to the pan fast enough. BBC's are cheaper and more plentifull to build than the Olds or the BBF's.
Prepare to spend a LOT of cash if you want to be one of the fastest out there.

throw lots of $$$ at it :o

You did put a ton of great info in those issues and recently I've been feeling starved for info TIM . ;D Anything we can expect for the future.

Thanks for the kind words. The new issue has the jet pump atricle in it, everybody else has their copy but me! The next issue has an article comparing conventional speedometers against GPS and RADAR, ya might like it! TIMINATOR

that's sounds cool tim, seeings how the nostalgia jet class has an 80.9 speed limit gps required in all boats. ralph
