ive destroyed 3+ autozone pullers and 2x craftsman's. wont budge. ive heated it up, pbblastered, tried hitting side with hammer, tried hitting puller bolt with hammer when its tight...impact gun at 120psi, breaker bar with extension... it hasnt moved at all... and yes the bolt and washer are removed. heh.
it wont come off. are there any shops or anyone here who dares to try to remove it?

Let's see. You could pull the entire crank assembly out and try to fit it into a press :screwy:
Or put it into a lathe and start turning down the balancer until you get to the crank snout. :banghead:
Or you could scrap the entire rotating assembly and go stroker. :thumbup:

Where are the puller breaking?, because th one pictured is installed upside down. :-\
Go rent a hydraulic puller and be done with it. Best $50 you will ever spend. :sly:
I have been a mechanic all my life and have never broken a puller of any quality (broke the cheap fockers)...
The puller should be tougher than bolts they are attached with...

They've all pulled the threads either off the center bolt or the plate.

Do the pullers you are using have a separate tapered tip that rotates individually of the threaded shaft? Or is the threaded shaft all one piece?
If the tip is not allowed to spin friction free (or close to it) all your pulling power will be eaten up.
I have a Blue Point one that I have been using for 20+ years. It has literally pulled the three 3/8" bolts right through the balancer before, never stripped/broke. :screwy:
Also, an impact is no bueno for pulling. (too much heat).
A cheap experiment would be to try a small bearing in between the end of the puller and the crank snout.

i tried the impact cuz someone mentioned the jarring motion sometimes frees it up, same with tapping with a hammer. i took a plastic bag and soaked the crap out of it with some pb blaster, no dice.

Does the little cap fit inside the bolt hole? or is it large enough to keep from going into the hole? It should be the latter.
Be super careful hitting anything under pressure...I have literally seen hubs explode by doing this.

the cap sits just outside the crank snout bolt hole, ive been putting a little brass button before it just to make sure that i dont damage the threads in the crank with all my shennanigans.
i wasnt wailing away on the puller or balancer with a hammer. just some love taps. i heard banging away might do some damage to the crank/bearings or whatnot. i didnt plan on pulling the entire motor apart for this. i just wanted to replace the timing cover with my water pump cover and new oil pan, etc. heh. nothing ever goes to plan i guess...

Yah that sucks man.the best plans always fall short. well if your really out of options , take a bottle of map gas and heat up the harmonic then try and pull it!( dont heat the outside half of it) leave the puller off when its hot spray a little wd40 where the bolt goes it should soak it up then try to pull it. (porb ruin the harmonic thou!)

finally got it off. after a full day of soaking in some PB blaster, i gave it one last try and it literally almost fell off.

seems like a lot of work just to put a shiney new timing cover on.

welcome to the life of owning a jet boat, nothing ever goes the way you plan and you cant do one thing with out doing another.i have went through 3 oil filter pullers the last 3 times ive changed my oil.so now i just use a huge pair of channel locks.i have alway just snugged the filter on and it seems to tighten it self super tight.welcome

LMAO, Whacker guys......sheesh!
In all honesty though, Pat, been a couple years I think since most of us have had an engine last long enough to REQUIRE an oil change it seems....... :banghead:
And yes, with HV/HP oil pumps, and temps we run at, the filters balloon like crazy and can be a real byatch to get off. Particularly if not running a remote mount. ;)
