Title: Idle issues
Post by: JB387 on June 12, 2017, 01:50:09 PM
I have a 540 BBC with a 1050 Dominator 4500 series with a stage 3 build  . The engine will fire but acts like it's starving for fuel and can only get it to idle at around 2500 to 3000 and up. just not a low idle it just dies out .  Been playing with the air fuel mixture screws and can get it down to around 1500 for about a minute or two then it starts fall off with a inconsistent idle then dies . So my next guess was a vacuum leak issue so i have been chasing that. New gaskets on carb to plate and plate to intake and re torqued the intake . Still same issue . So I tried the soap and water around the intake and carb to see if it would lower the idle and show me a sign of a vacuum leak and nothing so then I also tried starting fluid around the same areas to see if the idle would jump up and still nothing .Any help would be great . Thanks in advance.
